Section Chief, Hematopathology – Faculty Position at Rutgers - New Brunswick, NJ

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS) invites applications for a leadership position as Director of the Section of Hematopathology within the Division of Clinical Pathology. This faculty position offers the opportunity to join a dynamic academic medical center and contribute to a multidisciplinary team. The Director of Hematopathology will play a critical leadership role in maintaining patient safety, regulatory compliance, and high-quality clinical operations, while advancing hematopathology practice across RWJMS and RWJ University Hospital. The successful candidate will also contribute to the Department’s educational mission, including teaching pathology residents and fellows. Engagement in scholarly and research activities is encouraged and supported. 

About the Service 
Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital is a 628-bed academic medical center currently undergoing expansion and extensive renovation. The Section of Transfusion Medicine provides comprehensive transfusion medicine and blood banking services in support of a broad and complex clinical enterprise, including a Level I Trauma Center, Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital, and the recently opened Jack and Sheryl Morris Cancer Center. The service offers the full scope of the specialty, including bone marrow, lymph node, tissue lymphoma, and peripheral blood examination services; coagulation laboratory services; a high-volume flow cytometry laboratory; and on-site cytogenetics and molecular genetic pathology laboratory services, which are critical to diagnosing complex hematopathology cases. 

Qualifications 
• An MD, DO, or MBBS degree is required. 
• Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice medicine in New Jersey. 
• Specialty board certification in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. 
• Subspecialty board certification in Hematopathology 

Academic rank and compensation will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and academic experience.
