Welcome to the Society for Hematopathology!
The Society for Hematopathology (SH) is a dynamic organization established to stimulate interest, research, exchange of information and dissemination of knowledge pertaining to the biology, diagnosis and clinical aspects of the hematopoietic and lymphoreticular systems. The SH is a diverse community of international physicians and scientists including diagnostic hematopathologists and pathologists from various backgrounds such as private practice and academia, and researchers with interests in hematology/hematopathology.
The last year has been very busy for the SH with numerous educational activities and setting stage for new developments. Please see President’s Newsletter for a summary of recent and upcoming SH activities, and our social media accounts for additional resources and updates. Briefly, the 2019 SH-EAHP workshop on eosinophilia and mastocytosis is approaching (September 12-14, 2019) and on-line registration is still open. We are strengthening our relationships with international hematopathology colleagues and together with Chinese Society for Hematopathology will be co-hosting a workshop on infectious agent-associated lymphoproliferations on October 19-20 in Xi'an, China.
In addition, we have been preparing for the transition of management services. We would like to thank American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) for providing management support over last several years, and we look forward to continue collaborative activities with ASCP. Starting in July 2019, the management services are provided by SPLtrak, a professional management company. SPLtrak offers a comprehensive management including support for membership, educational activities and SH meetings. The new SH website is managed by SPLtrak and future SH communications will come from SH branded email (firstname.lastname@example.org). Starting in 2021, the SH workshops will again become self-standing SH events. Please consider submitting a proposal for this hallmark SH activity (deadline for proposals August 15, 2019).
Lastly, if you have any suggestions or comments for the SH, please do not hesitate to reach out to our headquarters (email@example.com).
I am honored to serve as the SH President and look forward to another productive year ahead.
Thank you for your membership and support,
Magdalena Czader, MD, PhD
