The Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) is growing our thriving faculty team to meet the needs of brand-new inpatient buildings and investments in cancer care at our hospitals.
To be prepared for these initiatives, we are hiring for multiple full-time academic subspecialty pathologist positions, including hematopathology, breast pathology, genitourinary pathology, gastrointestinal pathology, lung pathology, and head and neck pathology. The Department seeks full-time faculty members at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor who will focus on one or more of these subspecialties. The anticipated start date is between Summer 2025 and Summer 2026.
The Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine has a growing and collegial faculty and several dynamic education programs. The surgical pathology division is completely subspecialized with expertise in all areas of surgical pathology. The hematopathology division is supported by excellent flow cytometry, molecular, and cytogenetic/FISH laboratories. There are extensive collaborative research opportunities through the Knight Cancer Institute, which holds the NCI’s highest designation as a Comprehensive Cancer Center and is a world leader in studying cancer.
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is expanding to meet the needs of the growing population in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Portland is one of the most livable cities in the U.S. with numerous nearby outdoor recreational opportunities, excellent cuisine, and unique, walkable and family-friendly neighborhoods.
Applicants must be board-certified/board-eligible and be qualified for unrestricted medical licensure in the state of Oregon. Candidates should demonstrate evidence of productivity in an academic setting including a publication record, the ability to work in a collaborative research and clinical environment, strong written and verbal communication skills, and an interest in teaching pathology residents and fellows.
Oregon Health & Science University values a diverse and culturally competent workforce. OHSU is working hard to build an anti-racist, multicultural institution. We offer programs to support employees across ethnicities, national origins, religions, genders, sexual orientations, ages and abilities. Individuals with diverse backgrounds and those who promote diversity, and a culture of inclusion are encouraged to apply.
