Vanderbilt University Medical Center - Full-time Faculty Position in Hematopathology

The Department of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center invites applications for a full-time faculty position in hematopathology. Clinical responsibilities will include evaluation and sign-out of bone marrow, lymph node, and other hematopathology specimens, including interpreting flow cytometry and evaluating next generation sequencing data. Successful candidates will be expected to combine excellent diagnostic pathology abilities with strong motivation and skill in teaching. They will also be expected to participate in clinical or translational research efforts.

The Department of Pathology, Microbiology, and Immunology provides support for nationally recognized academic and clinical services, including the NCI-designated Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center, Vanderbilt University Hospital, and Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. In addition, there is a broad referral base that drives a busy outreach and consult service. This work is supported by state-of-the-art histology, flow cytometry, molecular diagnostics, and cytogenetics laboratories, and world-class bioinformatics. An excellent training program with fellows, residents, and medical students complements the clinical work. All of this occurs within the rich academic environment of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, providing an excellent environment for professional and academic career development.

Board certification in anatomic and/or clinical pathology, subspecialty training in hematopathology, and eligibility for licensure in the State of Tennessee are required. Salary and rank are based upon background and experience.
