Vice Chair, Hematopathology - Roswell Park Cancer Institute

Summary: 
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center (RPCCC) seeks to recruit a Vice Chair of Hematopathology in support of ongoing innovations, as we develop a state-of-the-art Hematopathology Division. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for oversight of all aspects (clinical and research) of the Division of Hematopathology which includes, Cytogenetics, Flow Cytometry and Bone Marrow Laboratories, creating a single unified service. Our faculty in the division have significant expertise across all types of hematological malignancies, while providing subspecialty diagnostic services and translational research support to outstanding clinical and scientific staff. Parallel to our outstanding faculty, our cytogenetic and flow cytometry laboratories are internationally recognized for their expertise in clinical diagnosis as well as their innovations in cutting-edge technologies.

The department of Pathology is also currently developing a state-of-the-art informatics platform to provide integrated hemepath reports for our disciplines, along with molecular pathology. We have also significantly invested in molecular pathology with the development of our own in-house custom hemepath profiling assay that is unequaled in the depth and breadth of information this test provides for our pathologists.

The opportunity for leading translational research and innovations is significant within this role, as it is our goal for this service to become a national leader in Hematopathology. The expertise in Hematopathology provided by this Vice Chair, along with dedicated leadership, faculty and staff will allow the incumbent ample opportunity for clinical and research collaboration, as well as professional growth.

License and Certification Requirement
1. License to practice as a Medical Doctor in the State of New York.
2. Possession of a valid medical specialty certificate in area of expertise.

Education and Experience
Medical Doctor degree and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience in area of expertise including nine (9) months in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity.
