The Wake Forest University School of Medicine, Department of Pathology is seeking applicants for a full-time academic hematopathologist. Rank will be determined by qualifications and level of experience.. Candidates must have an MD (or equivalent degree), be board-certified in AP/CP and subspecialty Hematopathology, and be eligible for North Carolina medical licensure. The ideal candidate will have at least five years post-hematopathology fellowship experience with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Specialized training in molecular pathology, coagulation, or medical education is highly desired.

Primary clinical responsibilities will include participation in the diagnostic hematopathology division that provides comprehensive consultation services for Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Our diagnostic hematopathology service consists of bone marrow and lymph node biopsies originating from expanding local clinical programs and an established consultation service, supported by state-of-the-art flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, molecular oncology, cytogenetics and core hematology laboratories. Participation in education of pathology residents, subspecialty fellows, medical students, and graduate students is expected. Substantial opportunities for clinical/translational research and other academic or scholarly activities are available. As the academic hub for the Atrium Health System, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to interact and collaborate with pathologists and clinicians in one of the largest healthcare systems in the country.
